We have gathered the most common questions about the location, the community, participation and the infrastructure of the refuge.

Location & Access

Between the municipalities of Guapé (20 km) and Pimenta (30 km), in Minas Gerais, on the shores of Lake Furnas. Belo Horizonte is 265 km away and São Paulo 465 km. The property has no through roads: all traffic is internal.
Via the paved airport of the neighboring Terramare community, followed by a 3.5 km speedboat crossing over Lake Furnas to the farm. Terramare has a hotel for accommodation.
Pleasant and stable all year round: historical averages (1991–2021) between 13.3°C and 27.5°C, at an average altitude of 1,250 m.

Community

The community has capacity for up to 200 families, selected according to criteria established in the bylaws. Families take part as collaborators in the development, with a monthly income and no need to invest.
Homes built with Banker technology: quick assembly, superior thermal insulation (warm in winter, cool in summer), a lifespan of more than 50 years, resistant to the elements and covered with a living green roof.
Yes: a community daycare, a technical agricultural school and a library on the farm, in addition to the regular school in the municipality of Pimenta with transport provided by the local government.

Investment

As a closely held corporation that owns the entire farm, with Bylaws, a Shareholders’ Agreement and Internal Regulations — professional governance with clauses for protection, transparency and sustainability.
An equity participation in the company and the right to build a residence for exclusive use in a privileged area (mountaintop or lakeshore), plus access to the nautical club and all the infrastructure. The details are formalized in the Shareholders’ Agreement.

Infrastructure

From more than 30 mineral water springs on the farm itself, with quality certified by expert report, treated with activated-carbon filtration and ultraviolet disinfection, with no chemicals.
Mostly solar: self-sufficient homes with battery banks, sheds with solar panels, methane generators fed by biodigesters, and in-house biodiesel production for the machinery.
Gatehouses monitored 24/7 with facial recognition, an integrated camera network with night vision and solar charging, and support from the Rural Patrol Detachment of the Pimenta Military Police.
Yes: a medical center with an outpatient clinic, X-ray, ultrasound, a pharmacy and its own ambulance, plus a complete dental center. Complex cases use the facilities in neighboring towns.
